and it seems that a lot of people like him.
My name is Kathrina, and I work for a group of hotels and some restaurant chains. For posterity, here are some of them: (photo is from Jezreel, during Valentine’s Day in the newly opened Hollywood Steakhouse. )

Sevensuites, a romantic wedding venue in Antipolo. This one is located along Sumulong Highway, Antipolo.
OrangePlace, a budget hotel in San Juan and Quezon City.
ASHA, a hospitality arts school which teaches HRM, CHRO, Barista, Cookery, etc.
Now that is out of the way.

There is a new boy in the office and the people in the company seem to like him. By like I have to say that the people in the office are warm towards him. Before he came to the office, there was this girl who people did not like–as much. The type which some of them would talk behind the back of. There is a certain pride and recklessness with the way this girl talks. She acted too abrasively that people were cold toward her, that when she resigned, people could only sigh a sense of relief.
The past few days I have been wondering what makes the new boy in the office seem very likable, as opposed to that other girl which not a lot of people liked. In the sense, I feel that while it is true that intelligence is a good currency in an office, interpersonal skills make for better currency.
The new boy in the office call the other office assistants “Kuya”. He does this out of respect.
In the morning, he greets all of us sincerely with a “good morning.” Perhaps, he is thoughtful.
He would always remember to ask people what they need before he heads out to get things for himself.
He does not wait for people to get stuff for him. For lunch, he makes it a point to clean up after himself.
Every time he is not around, people ask for him. They always reserve an extra plate for lunch for him. They always ask for him when they pass by the work station. They would make nice jokes behind his back. The kind that makes you wonder why he is well liked.
Today, he left around 3pm to go to school. The new boy in the office still goes to school. Before he left, everyone was sending him “good luck” greetings. Tomorrow, I bet the other people in the office would ask him about his recitations and his classes. As they always do.
I hope really well that the new boy in the office goes far in life. The kind that makes you proud to be associated with him-far in life.
