I always register myself to unlimited texting. Exception of course are days when I get too busy to go out to buy load. But for the most part, there are no exceptions.
Globe. unlitxt80 to 2870. Because I feel it’s more practical like that. If for example I will send 15 messages to friends or family, it always feel too expensive to send a message for one peso because I know I will send more than 21 messages a day.
Here’s how we do the math:
- 3 siblings, Duration 2 times a day (3 * 2 = 6)
all of which I have to text about random developments with my mom the moment those developments happen.
("Nakakatayo na si mama", "Umiiyak si Mama gusto niya kasi ng Chao Fan", "What time ka uuwi? Paubos na diaper ni mama", those things)
- 1 (ex-boy)friend, duration more than fifteen times a day (1 * 15 = 15)
Mostly for good morning, get lunch, catching up after work, talking about the news, American politics, Philippine politics, bureaucracy, mga kind ng ulam sa planeta, good night, good night, good night. Okay more than fifteen times on good days.
- give or take 3 classmates who would randomly text me about anything, and continue extended conversations. (3 * 10 =30)
Usually about bad recitations, pretty boys, pretty girls, boy problems, girl problems, multiply albums, multiply lay-outs, random apartment issues, anything at all
- 2 best friends, one would text me during her lunch period, one would text me randomly. (2 * 10 = 20)
both of which come as a surprise always. And we would talk about anything at all, like buying cameras, getting a job, future trysts in Katipunan and the like.
so that’s: 6 + 15 +30 +20 = 71.
And since unlimited na rin naman ako, there’s the usual guilty pleasure of a good forward I would send to pretty much everyone in my phonebook. (140 people), minsan minsan may madadagdag o mababawas na ibang mga tao sa listahan pero usually it’s pretty much everyone (once a day)
71 + 140 = 211
And then there is the cute forward I would only send to a select few (less than ten). Like "I appreciate you" forwards blah blah.
211 + 10 = 221 messages a day. Maybe even more.
This I do on repeat. Seven days a week. Because most of my friends live in the outside world , and I am stuck at home in front of the PC, or taking care of my mom. So unlimited texting is always the way to go. But I’d like to believe I don’t do spam. Tell me if I do, you know I’d gladly stop.
I think texting will be the death of me. I once told a friend, that if for example I’d encounter a freak accident it would be that I would be run over by a car in Ortigas, because I was texting while crossing the street.
In other news, I bought a new phone. Her name is Serena, she is Cherry Red.
